Band

Music is a valued art in District 31 and the Field Middle School band students have a long history of musical excellence! Achievements of the students include perfect scores at state and district IGSMA contests, participation in the University of Illinois Superstate Band Festival, participation in the ILMEA Honor band, participation in the All Illinois Junior Band, and high ratings at the District 31 Solo, and Ensemble Festival. Students also enjoy local fun at marching band nights, district concerts, and performing at 8th grade graduation.  

Students who play a wind or percussion instrument will be placed into one of the two bands at Field Middle School; the Concert Band or the Wind Ensemble. The Wind Ensemble rehearses Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays before school from 7:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. The Concert Band rehearses Tuesdays and Thursdays before school from 7:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. All musicians also receive one lesson during the school day each week. Students who participate in band receive a grade on their report card.
