District 31 Finances

The West Northfield School District 31 Board of Education, along with a dedicated and professional staff embrace the district's need to provide high-quality education in an efficient and fiscally responsible manner through effective, transparent, and collaborative efforts. The District spends approximately $20k per student to provide exemplary education. A recipient of Financial Recognition status from the Illinois State Board of Education for the past several years, the District's financial health is strong.

District 31 also has a very favorable investor rating of Aa2 from Moody's Investors Service. Ratings range from Aaa to C, with Aaa being the highest quality and C the lowest quality. The District's Aa2 stable rating ensures that the District is eligible for much lower interest rates on its debt. This reduces the overall cost of projects and affords the District the flexibility to allocate resources to additional capital projects or school enhancements.
